Buffer Zones Against Pesticides Bill - SB29

This bill aims to protect the State's environment and its residents from the unintended impacts of large-scale pesticide use by establishing buffer zones around sensitive areas including schools, homes and childcare facilities.

 

Pesticide Disclosure & Buffer Zones Bill - HB790

This bill requires that the State protect Hawai'i’s environment and its residents from the unintended impacts of large-scale pesticide use by establishing buffer zones and requiring disclosure and notification of toxic restricted use pesticides around sensitive areas.
 


Hawai'i State Neonicotinoid Insecticide and Glyphosate Herbicide Use Restrictions within DLNR Lands Bill - HB1282

This bill will follow the steps set forth by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to eliminate the use of neonicotinoid insecticides & glyphosate herbicide on any public land maintained or owned by the DLNR to protect Hawaii’s bees, other pollinators, insects, birds and animals as well as defend Hawaii’s agricultural economy and natural ecosystems.

 

Funding Kauaʻi Joint Fact Finding Recommendations - HB 252 (Companion to SB 778)

Makes an appropriation to implement the recommendations of the joint fact finding study group's report on pesticide use by large agribusinesses on Kauaʻi.

 

Expanding Pesticide Advisory Committee - HB 254 (Companion to SB 779)

Expands the membership of the pesticide advisory committee to include a representative from the DOE, each county mayors' office, a medical expert, and a non-governmental organization scientist.  Expands the duties of the pesticide advisory committee to include establishment of state standards for chronicity, recommendation to the legislature of specific changes to the State's pesticide laws and regulations, expansion of the good neighbor program, and establishment of a comprehensive buffer zone policy for the State. 

 

COALITION BILL: Carbon Farming Task Force Bill - HB1578

This bill aims to protect Hawai'i’s natural resources, agricultural viability and food security by encouraging agricultural or aquacultural activity that provides greenhouse gas benefits by creating a Carbon Farming Task Force.
